Our Hunts
Here’s What We Provide

Pit Hunts
This is our most popular hunt. We have comfortable pits that can accommodate 6 to 12 hunters. We set around 2000 decoys per pit (70/30 split of full bodies and socks) Full bodies provide depth and mass, socks provide good movement in light wind. With switch seating to maximize any wind the day brings you will enjoy a comfortable hunt. Our blinds have propane heaters and a cook stove along with basic cook gear to use as your group needs.
MobiIe Hunts

We want all of our customers to experience the impressive level of professionalism when booking with Central Edge Outfitters. We offer field hunts as a regular service but especially when unexpected warm or cold fronts push birds from our pit locations. Our mobile hunts are with all the best gear available. This can be layouts or whites with 800 to 1000 decoys set in known migration routes based on our years of experience. Some outfitters talk about the X, migrating snows can feed in one field today, another the next or be 200 miles in any direction from that feed. The spring snow goose migration is UNPREDITCTABLE when chasing feeds. Our fields are on known migration routes to ensure you the best opportunity.
Lodging and Meals
We work with a network of lodging providers in our areas of operation, from motels/hotels, Airbnb's to hunting lodges. Options are dependent on hunting location. Food can be found at local restaurants and there is usually a grocery store or Dollar General within reasonable distance. We operate in a very rural area without an abundance of amenities, driving up to an hour is not uncommon to get between food/lodging and hunting locations, but that's one of our advantages in having lower pressured birds without heavy competition!
Upon booking your dates we can provide options for lodging where we expect to be hunting.

FAQ
The Answers You Need
What to bring?
A positive attitude!
Our hunts in Kansas and Nebraska start in mid-February, temps can range from lows to highs of -7 to 70F. Waterproof clothing and layers are recommended along with rubber footwear. Shotgun (plug removed) three boxes of 3" BBB, BB or #1s of 1 1/4, 1400-1500 fps shells per day. Shots range from 10 to 60 yards, we encourage patterning and choke tubes appropriate for those distances. Coolers to store birds, bird cleaning is excluded but we usually have a bird hitcher available to use free of charge. A white hooded sweatshirt and/or hat for mobile hunts along with a face mask is also recommended. Hunts in South Dakota start in mid March with much of the same weather.
What to expect?
A good time!
An average hunt consists of 20-40 birds per day per group, this could be 12 birds one day and 44 the next to attain an average, yes, we also have exceptional days of 80-100+ but it should go without saying that hunting is hunting. We cannot control weather, jump shooters or the birds. Our years of experience hunting this flight line led us to these locations where the odds are heavily in favor of success, but we make no guaranties expressed or implied on success.
Pricing and Packages
Base rates start at $250.00 a day per gun. Lodging rates range from $30-60 per person per day based on double occupancy. We can help you plan a tailored hunt that fits your party's needs. Contact us with number in party, dates, lodging request and we can check availability of our hunting lodges, Airbnb's and our network of hotels to provide you a package price.
The odds and ends.
We are hunting a migratory bird, our knowledge from years of hunting these areas and our equipment give us a great advantage over others.
We do not cancel hunts unless of extreme circumstances! We will provide a hunt even it means a mobile layout hunt. Deposits are per person and nonrefundable. If five adults' book and four show the deposit for the fifth is forfeited toward the group's total. That person's deposit will be rolled over to the following year for available dates we have. If extreme weather pushes birds from our pit location and you booked a pit hunt, we will provide a field hunt, and work out the details. This can mean hunting in a different state then planned, this is in your interest as our guest, if so, we will inform you a few days before arrival to allow you time to secure the proper needed licenses. Kansas cost is $ 111.00 plus Federal stamp, Nebraska cost is $144.00 plus Federal stamp. Yes, license fees cost a little more than our eastern neighbor states but for our clients from western states the savings in travel more than offsets the difference!
We definitely understand that you planed and are looking forward to a spring snow goose hunting experience and our goal is to provide one! Our past clients have been more than appreciative that we were able to have a plan B and keep their scheduled hunt even if it means a little more driving and a field hunt.
